Emirates/Oman 2005
My first real holiday (>1 week) since my trip to Japan 2 years ago! Three great weeks in Middle East: Emirates and Oman. Many thanks to Sébastien who hosted me at Abu Dhabi, and also to Tonja, Michael, Elvira, Chantal for the good hints.

Let's fly! ZRH (Zürich, Switzerland, 10am) -> AMS (Amsterdam, Holland) -> AUH (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 01am).
Just a few hours after landing:
2 days in the desert! Near Liwa Oasis, with some French friends with large cars.
Car Trip to Al Ain, 150km east from Abu Dhabi: Palace Museum, Oasis, Zoo, Jabel Hafeet Mountain, City
36h in Dubai City: hotels, beach, fairmont, etc. And then one day in the East: Dibba, Khor Fakkan
Some nice fishes, more or less big...
A few city views: City, Parks, Swiss Embassy, Abu Dhabi Mall
Start of a 5 days trip to Oman: flight, Muscat, Crowne Plaza, Mutrah Suq, The Chedi.
Trip to Nizwa, Bahla, Jabel Shams (2050m).
Back from the mountain, Wadi Gouhl, Village...
Al Bustan Palace Hotel, Great Mosquee, Omani Museum, Army Museum, Muscat, Mutrah Suq
Back in Abu Dhabi: Fish Market, City, Marina Mall, Culture House, Al Hosn Palace, Gold Souq
Last day at 35°C: UAE Heritage Village, Shopping, Abu Dhabi Ice Rink :-)
Return flight to Amsterdam, and a day in this nice city :)
